Bioluminescent waves light up Big Sur
CNN- Big Sur is home to some of the most breathtaking views in the US, but a recent bloom in bioluminescent phytoplankton has turned its waves into a full-blown spectacle.
The bright blue water under California’s Bixby Creek Bridge comes alive in photographs taken on Monday night by Monterey photographer George Krieger. Combined with a star-speckled sky, the entire scene lights up the night. {“url”:”https://twitter.com/GeorgeKrieger/status/961153253017882625″,”author_name”:”George Krieger”,”author_url”:”https://twitter.com/GeorgeKrieger”,”html”:”&#lt;blockquote class=”twitter-tweet”&#gt;&#lt;p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”&#gt;So tonight's Passion Therapy photo adventure included Rockets and Bioluminescence. Once the wind picks back up, the phytoplankton will likely be dispersed through the waves. In the meantime, tourists and locals are in for a special treat after sunset. {“url”:”https://twitter.com/GeorgeKrieger/status/960822006659911681″,”author_name”:”George Krieger”,”author_url”:”https://twitter.com/GeorgeKrieger”,”html”:”&#lt;blockquote class=”twitter-tweet”&#gt;&#lt;p lang=”pt” dir=”ltr”&#gt;via Facebook &#lt;a href=”https://t.co/abccWorHyu”&#gt;https://t.co/abccWorHyu&#lt;/a&#gt; &#lt;a href=”https://t.co/jd3iVpx5xB”&#gt;pic.twitter.com/jd3iVpx5xB&#lt;/a&#gt;&#lt;/p&#gt;— George Krieger (@GeorgeKrieger) &#lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/GeorgeKrieger/status/960822006659911681?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”&#gt;February 6, 2018&#lt;/a&#gt;&#lt;/blockquote&#gt;n&#lt;script async src=”https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″&#gt;&#lt;/script&#gt;n”,”width”:550,”height”:null,”type”:”rich”,”cache_age”:”3153600000″,”provider_name”:”Twitter”,”provider_url”:”https://twitter.com”,”version”:”1.0″}
