Sunnyvale: Boulder Creek man identified as bicyclist killed in big-rig crash

A Boulder Creek man has been identified as the victim killed in a big-rig accident in the Bay Area.

According to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, 55-year-old Scott Harvey was riding his bike on Caribbean Avenue at Borregas Avenue in Sunnyvale when he collided with a semi truck.

The fatal accident took place Thursday around 6:50 a.m. Harvey died at the scene.

The 46-year-old truck driver stopped and is cooperating with investigators, police said.

According to Harvey’s LinkedIn page, he worked at Lockheed Martin, which is about a mile away from where he died.

The cause of the accident is unknown. Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
