Seaside High School receives national award

Seaside High School is among five schools to receive national recognition from the Schools of Opportunity project.

The project gave Seaside High its Gold Recognition award for “fluidly melding college readiness and career preparation.”

The project’s website praised the school’s “inclusive” approach in combining career track education with college-prep coursework. It cited one program that combined math education with coding and robotics.

Other recipients of the 2017 Schools of Opportunity Gold Recognition were: Broom Street Academy Charter High School in New York, Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences, Denver South High School, Health Sciences High and Middle College in San Diego, and Lincoln High School in Lincoln, NE.
