Detectives arrest drug dealers inside Santa Cruz motel
Detectives with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office arrested two drug dealers inside a motel in Santa Cruz.
The drug bust occurred Monday morning, at a motel in the 500 block of Riverside Avenue. Detectives with the Special Enforcement Team found Juan Olvera inside a motel room. Olvera had four warrants for his arrest.
A second person, Crystal Araujo was found inside another motel room being used by Olvera.
“Detectives saw drugs inside the motel rooms where Olvera and Araujo were contacted and a search warrant was written,” said Sgt. Brian Cleveland.
Detectives found more than $1,000 in cash, digital scales, drug packaging, more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, more than 70 grams of heroin, over 600 grams of marijuana, two hand guns, bullets, and drug paraphernalia. The narcotics had an estimated street value of $4,500.
Olvera was arrested for the warrants, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale. Araujo was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales, Criminal Conspiracy and Possession of Heroin for Sales.
Both suspects were booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
