Police investigate a stabbing, a shooting and a hit-and-run in Salinas
Officers in Salinas responded to a call about a stabbing, a shooting and a hit-and-run just before 11:20 p.m. Friday on Lombard Circle.
Police said they found a car that had crashed into a light pole, with two woman victims, that had been hit by a car. They were later treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, a large party got out of hand with several people fighting in the street.
The driver was identified as Arnulfo Guzman, 47, who had been involved in the fight, got into a car and drove circles around the cul-de-sac. He lost control of the car, struck the pole and the victims.
Police said he was nabbed about two blocks away on Sansome Street.
Guzman had a large wound across his forehead as a result of a stabbing, police said.
Another victim was tracked to Geary Circle, where officers found a blood trail leading into a home. Officers had to use force to go inside the home to check on the well-being of the victim because there was no answer at the door.
The victim was not home and later arrived at the hospital for treatment to a stab. He was not cooperating in the investigation.
Guzman has been booked into the Monterey County Jail as the investigation continues.
