Seaside man sentenced for possession of nunchucks and meth pipe
UPDATE: 1/19/2018 11:46 a.m. A Seaside man has been sentenced to four years and 6 months in prison for possession of nunchucks and a methamphetamine pipe.
64-year-old Donald Wayne Vierra was stumbling in traffic while crossing Fremont Boulevard back in March of 2017. An officer approached Vierra who was holding a 6 inch kitchen knife in his hand. During a search, the officer found nunchucks wrapped in a Hustler magazine up Vierra’s jacket sleeve. The officer also found a meth pipe in Vierra’s pocket.
“During a court trial, Vierra admitted to a prior strike conviction as well as four prior prison terms,” said the District Attorney’s Office.
Vierra was sentenced to two years, doubled for the prior strike conviction, for the nunchucks and to six months for the meth pipe.

A Seaside man has been convicted of possession of nunchucks and a methamphetamine pipe.
Officials say the incident happened in March on Fremont Boulevard when 64-year-old Donald Wayne Vierra was stumbling in traffic, crossing the street.
An officer on routine patrol noticed this and decided to contact Vierra. As Vierra approached the officer, he was holding a 6.25-inch kitchen knife in his hand.
Vierra was stopped and searched and the officer found nunchucks wrapped in a Hustler magazine stuffed up Vierra’s left jacket sleeve. The officer also found a methamphetamine pipe in Vierra’s vest pocket.
During a court trial, Vierra admitted to a prior strike conviction as well as four prior prison terms. Sentencing is scheduled for December 14th.
