Man sought for vandalism and assault over booze
Gilroy police turned to Facebook Wednesday in hopes of identifying a man who struck a store manager and vandalized another store that refused to sell him alcohol.
Police say it happened around 11 p.m. on January 6, 2018, when the suspect tried to steal alcohol from the Gilroy Safeway. When store personnel intervened, he punched the store manager repeatedly before running away.
A short time later, police say he vandalized the 7-11 store on First Street, after a clerk refused to sell him alcohol.
Police want him off the street, and hope someone will identify him and contact Officer McPeek at the Gilroy Police Department.
