16-year-old identified as Greenfield’s first homicide victim of 2018
UPDATE: 1/11/2018 11:24 a.m. A 16-year-old boy has been identified as Greenfield’s first homicide victim of 2018.
The shooting took place in the 1200 block of Oak Street on January 4. When officers arrived they found 16-year-old Luis Cuevas Gonzales on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“No other information is being released at this time, as the investigation is continuing,” said the South County Major Crimes Investigations Unit.
Authorities do not have any suspect information.

Greenfield Police are investigating the city’s first homicide of the year.
A man was shot in the 1200 block of Oak Avenue late Thursday night. When officers arrived they found the Hispanic male dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim will not be released until the family is notified.
“The motive for the incident is currently unknown,” said Greenfield Police.
The case is being investigated by the Major Crimes Unit which is made up of detectives from Greenfield and King City.
