Gilroy homeowner catches suspects breaking into house

A Gilroy homeowner came face to face with two suspects who attempted to break into his house Wednesday.

According to Gilroy Police, two men dressed in black hoodies had black bandanas over their faces when they forced open the front door of a home in the 1100 block of Lerma Lane around 11:45 a.m.

As the suspects were about to enter the home, they were confronted by the homeowner and took off running.

“The suspects fled on foot westbound on Lerma Lane. It’s unknown if they continued on foot or got into a vehicle,” said Gilroy Police.

Gilroy Police asks anyone living in the Lerma Lane and El Caminito Drive area to check their home security systems for any suspect information.
