CHP: 10 arrested during Max Enforcement Period
The California Highway Patrol – Monterey released statistics for its Maximum Enforcement Period during the New Year’s weekend.
They say officers arrested ten drivers who were drunk and investigated 16 crashes, two of which were DUI related, between Dec. 29 and Jan. 1 in the Monterey area.
It’s a slight decrease from the Christmas MEP, which saw 11 arrests and 28 accidents.
There were more arrests this New Year’s MEP versus last, where there were seven DUI arrests.
The Maximum Enforcement Period means all available officers are on duty looking for impaired drivers, speeding and other safety concerns.
