Crews quickly stop trash fire at Sun Street Transfer Station
Salinas Fire crews responded to a big trash fire just after 5:30 Thursday night.
A huge pile of trash caught fire at the Sun Street Transfer Station. Salinas Fire says no one was hurt and no structures were threatened. The fire grew to around a quarter to half an acre in size.
Crews were able to knock down the fire in about 20 minutes. They say it’s fortunate the fire didn’t spread to any buildings nearby containing hazmat waste.
