Fire sparks after power outage at Santa Cruz High
A power outage has caused Santa Cruz High to cancel school Wednesday.
Officials at Santa Cruz City Schools, didn’t think it felt safe for students to be on campus while the hallways and bathrooms were dark.
Superintendent Kris Munro said a fire in the main building also sparked from an electrical motor in the elevator. There was no major damage and fire fighters were able to keep the flames under control.
Crews are working to restore power and hope to resume class Thursday.
