3.1 magnitude earthquake hits near Soledad

A small earthquake struck near Soledad Wednesday afternoon.

According to the United States Geological Survey, a 3.1 magnitude quake struck at 1:10 p.m. and was centered about 13 miles from Soledad. The earthquakes depth was a little over 2 miles.

Wednesdays rumble was the latest in a string of quakes along the central coast. On November 13, a 4.7 earthquake hit near Gonzales with people feeling it as far as Hollister, Santa Cruz and Salinas.
