Man arrested for assaulting a woman in Greenfield

A Greenfield man is behind bars accused of assaulting a woman.

According to police, it happened Tuesday on the 200 block of Pinot Avenue.

Police said the victim was uncooperative and had no visible injuries.

Officers also said the suspect, 23-year-old Eberet Cruz Alvarez, lied about his name and resisted officers before being arrested. He was taken to the Monterey County Jail.
