Hundreds gather to see Santa at Capitola Main Beach
Santa is in town, but did not come by way of sleigh and reindeer. He ditched his normal attire for a wetsuit and Hawaiian T-Shirt.
Saturday afternoon Santa arrived at Capitola’s Main Beach on a canoe. He was met by more than one hundred people on shore. He then sat on the Beach listening to what kids are hoping for this Christmas.
Santa originally planned to surf into the beach, but lack of waves made that a bit difficult. Kids lined up to make sure he know’s what to put under the tree.
While waiting in line for Santa, Brody tells KION he knows what he wants to ask for this year, “I’m gonna ask Santa for a safari vest.”
Sophie, who has met Santa before, says she’s just excited to see Santa, “Well it doesn’t matter what he gets me, but um I can’t wait to see Santa. And I’m pretty sure he was cold at the North Pole and it is warm here and it, it doesn’t matter what he gives me.”
This event is held each year by Capitola Soquel Chamber of Commerce.
