Busiest Thanksgiving travel week in more than a decade
Thinking about getting out of town for the holiday? You are not alone. According to AAA, Wednesday to Sunday will be the busiest Thanksgiving travel time in 12 years with more than 50 million people traveling to their destination.
The reason for the travel increase could have to do with airline tickets being cheapest they’ve been in four years, according to AAA. The weather right now is also looking decent across the nation but that can always change so try to get to the airport roughly two hours before your flight. If you plan to travel by car, expect more congestion than last year. 89 percent of all people traveling will drive which means 45.5 million people will be on the roads.
If you don’t want to put the extra miles on your car, renting could be an option but you may have to pay more. AAA said daily car rental rates will be up to about $70.
