Salinas police investigate city’s 26th homicide of 2017

UPDATE: Salinas police say the victim of Monday night’s shooting has died.

The shooting happened on the the 200 block of Cross Avenue just before midnight.

When officers arrived on scene they found 26-year-old Alexis Alfredo Saldana Ramos suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

This is the city’s 26th homicide of 2017.

The incident is being investigated as gang related.

Salinas police are investigating a shooting that happened right around midnight Tuesday.

It happened near the city’s Cross Avenue and Miami Street.

It appears there was only one victim of a gunshot wound.

Very little information is available at this time as police are still investigating the incident.
