Salinas Police Department preparing for Halloween weekend DUI patrols

If you plan on being out and about this Halloween weekend, know the Salinas Police Department will also be out.

The department will be having two DUI special patrols out to make sure streets are safer. DUI patrols will also be out Halloween night on Tuesday.

“It’s a very busy time especially for patrol officers just because there are so many people out,” says Salinas Police Department Sgt. Gerry Ross.

Drivers are encouraged to make a plan ahead of time and have a sober driver, to avoid the possibility of getting a DUI.

The Department feels this enforcement is especially important this weekend and on Halloween, as there will be an influx of children crossing in dark areas.
