Greenfield man arrested after using his 1-year-old baby as shield

A Greenfield man was arrested, after using his 1-year-old baby as a shield from police.

It happened in Greenfield Tuesday night when Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of 10th Street regarding a disturbance.

When Officers arrived, they located the victim, who was the subject of False Imprisonment. Officers then contacted the suspect, 26-year-old Greenfield resident Manuel Soto.

As officers attempted to take Soto into custody, they say he tried to use his 1-year-old baby as a shield. Officers were able to safely remove the baby, who was soon after given to a family member, as they took Soto into custody.

Soto was arrested for False Imprisonment and Child Endangerment.
