Marina Police asking for help locating at-risk man
UPDATE: Subsequent investigation as of October 16, 2017 indicates that Betten may have left the area, traveling by bus to probable destinations between Los Angeles, CA and Phoenix, Arizona. It is believed Betten is enroute to Mobile, Alabama. Betten’s status remains as an At Risk Missing Person based on his mental health care concerns.

The Marina Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing at risk man.
36-year-old Shane Edward Betten was last seen at his residence on the evening of October 10th located on the 3100 block of Crescent Avenue between 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM. At approximately 11:00 AM on October 11th, he was discovered to be missing from the residence and his current whereabouts are unknown.
Betten suffers from mental health issues which require that he take medication. Without the medication, he may not remember to take on basic tasks such as eating or finding a safe place to rest. There is concern that Betten’s health could suffer and that he may be in danger from exposure out in the open.
Shane Edward Betten is a white male adult who is 36 years of age. He is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes. He also has a goatee.
