Ribbon cutting ceremony for Holman Highway Roundabout set for Thursday Morning

The Holman Highway 68 Roundabout Project was a $10 million public-private partnership built to relieve congestion near the Highway 68/Highway 1 intersection. TAMC Outreach Coordinator Theresa wright says the overall response has been great.

“Overwhelmingly the roundabout has been a success. Of Course theres a learning curve for someone who is not experienced on how to drive through a roundabout. But the response we have gotten from the public is that it works, they’re happy that it’s there,” said TAMC Outreach Coordinator Theresa Wright.

The roundabout is fully operational, however crews will still be on site to complete minor landscaping and stripping work. Looking ahead, there is a long list of projects on the horizon now for TAMC. Among them: The salinas rail extension. They’re also looking for public input on senior disability and mobility, making further improvements on highway 68 between monterey and salinas, and highway 156 as well.
