Big Rig vs. tractor accident on Blanco Rd. sends one to hospital
A Big Rig vs. tractor accident in Salinas sent one man to the hospital.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a tractor was traveling towards Salinas in the shoulder on Blanco Road between Armstrong and Hitchcock Road when the driver tried to make a left hand turn and struck a semi truck.
CHP said the accident occurred around 6:50 a.m. Thursday. The driver of the semi suffered facial lacerations and was taken to the hospital. The tractor driver was ok. Radiator fluid leaked onto the roadway. One lane was closed while fire crews mopped up the area.
Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in this case. The accident on Blanco Road caused some traffic delays but CHP expected the road to be back open by 10 a.m.
