Salinas Police bust teens with loaded gun and drugs

Two teens were busted in Salinas for carrying a loaded gun and drugs.

According to the Salinas Police Department, an officer was patrolling the area in the 900 block of Acosta Plaza when he spotted two suspicious teens get out of a car. The department said the officer searched 19-year-old Alexis Martinez and found a loaded magazine in his pocket. The officer searched the car and found a loaded .40 caliber Sig Sauer P250 under the driver seat.

The firearm was stolen out of Arizona, according to police.

The 14-year-old boy was in possession of marijuana and was cited out to his parents.

Martinez was booked into the Monterey County Jail for firearm charges and gang enhancements.
