Designs for new Salinas Police Department to be shown at town hall Wednesday
The City of Salinas wants to hear from you as they enter the final design phase of a new, $50 million dollar Salinas Police Service Headquarters. The new headquarters is planned for 312 East Alisal Street, in an old public works yard. The hope is that it will connect downtown and East Salinas.
There are three very different designs for the new Salinas Police Service Headquarters.
The consensus will then be brought to the council meeting on November 7th. .
“We would hope to break ground next summer on this project and begin building it. We need to get our construction plans together. And because this is the first project in the Alisal Marketplace it really will set the standard for the re-development of this area.,” said Asst. Public Works Director, Don Reynolds.
The current police department was built in 1958 for 95 employees, they have almost double that.
