King City officials investigating shooting that left one man with leg injury

King City officials are investigating an incident after a man was shot in the leg while at a stop sign.

Sunday afternoon, Officers from the King City Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of San Antonio Dr. and Campbell St. in regards to shots being fired from a vehicle.

When the officers arrived, several shell casings where found in the intersection. When the area was checked, there were no victims, residences or vehicles that appeared to have been struck by the gunfire. While officers were on scene they received a call of a Hispanic male adult at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Officers arrived and interviewed the victim. The victim advised he was stopped at the stop sign at eastbound San Antonio and Campbell, in his vehicle, when a white Dodge, Chevy or GMC truck pulled slowly into the left turn pocket lane next to him, the right front passenger leaned out the window pointed a handgun in his direction and started to fire it, never stopping. The victim said he drove off and heard the suspects fire 4 shots at him. The suspect vehicle turned north onto Campbell St. and when the victim felt pain in his leg, he drove to the hospital.

The victim sustained a non-threatening gunshot wound to his left leg. The victim is cooperating with the investigation. No other information is being released at this time.
