4.1 earthquake strikes Alum Rock

A 4.1 earthquake hit at about 5:55 p.m. and was centered about 8 miles east-southeast of the Alum Rock area of San Jose, according to the USGS.

A viewer in Monterey tells us she felt a strong jolt of what she believes was the earthquake, in downtown Monterey by the wharf.

The earthquake was also felt in the Santa Cruz area Monday night.
