Car fully engulfed in flames on Highway 101 near Airport Blvd.
A car was fully engulfed in flames on Highway 101 in Monterey County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, calls for a car fire came in Thursday around 11:49 a.m. The vehicle fire caused major traffic delays in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 at Airport Blvd. in Salinas. CHP said a family was headed down south to Los Angeles when mechanical wire issues started the fire. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were able to put out the flames just after 12 p.m.
