Teen arrested for vandalizing Watsonville park
Watsonville police arrested 18-year-old Alfonso Gonzalez-Garcia, Jr. Monday afternoon after he was seen vandalizing Atri Park.
A City of Watsonville Parks maintenance worker spotted Gonzalez-Garcia tagging at least two different areas in the park with red spray paint around 4:30 p.m.
The worker reported the teen to police.
When officers arrived on scene the tagger attempted to discard a can of spray paint under a parked car.
The suspect was positively identified by the witness and was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
He faces a misdemeanor vandalism charge.
