2017 Feast of Lanterns kicks off
The Feast of Lanterns opened its doors in Pacific Grove with an opening ceremony Wednesday.
The ceremony was at Chautauqua Hall, where Queen Topaz, the royal court and the royal guard presented a martial arts demonstration, contemporary and traditional dances and a handbell piece.
“The feast of lanterns has never been the same thing. It’s alway been going through an evolutionary process,” said Feast of Lights President, Kaye Coleman.
The Feast of Lanterns will continue with a restaurant showcase, a pet parade down Caledonia Park, a pageant at Lovers Point, and finishes off with the closing ceremonies on Sunday.
