California Rodeo security team ready for everything
Rodeo Security Director, Bob Eggers, has been doing this since 1995. He says they have to be ready to respond to everything from an injury, all the way to the unthinkable, which would prompt their crisis response plan to be activated.
“It’s a living breathing document. Obviously we plan for earthquakes and fires, but we also have to deal with any type of violent incident that might erupt at the venue. Of course that is something we hope never occurs, but because of what is happening all around the country we take it very seriously and that’s incorporated into our plan,” said California Rodeo Security Director Bob Eggers.
Security volunteers, law enforcement and private security will be at the event each night working together. Professional Bull riding will take place Wednesday. It has sold out over the past two years and ticket sales are 22-percent higher this year.
