San Lorenzo Valley Water District to replace storm-damaged water main

The San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLVWD) is teaming up with the County of Santa Cruz Department of Public Works to to replace a water main on Bear Creek Road that was damaged during a winter storm earlier this year.

SLVWD initially responded to the damaged main by rerouting water to customers through a bypass line. The District has since applied for FEMA funds with the intention of using those funds to replace the water main that has been out of commission since January.

Construction begins next Monday, July 24th, and will continue through Friday, July 28th. Bear Creek Road will be closed from Monday to Friday of next week between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Emergency authorities have been notified of the construction and have contingencies in place.
