Man arrested for a stabbing in Santa Cruz

A man is behind bars accused of stabbing another man in Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz Police said an officer saw to men fighting in the area of Soquel and Front Street near Plaza Lane at 3:39 a.m. Sunday, July 16th.

The Sergeant drove up to the two, got out of his patrol car and yelled “stop it!”

One person started to run away and the victim told the officer that he had been stabbed.

Officers were able to identify the suspect and after a long chase, they detained 22-year-old Yemoh Anang.

The investigation later revealed that Anang is on active parole with two felony warrants out for his arrest.

He was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
