House fire displaces four Salinas residents

A house fire left four residents displaced from their Salinas home Monday morning.

The Salinas Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire on John Street and South Hebbron Avenue, around 7:30 a.m.

Before firefighters arrived, three family members were trying to get an elderly woman out of the burning house. Before fire crews arrived the family was able to get the woman out.

The Salinas Fire Battalion Chief said they believe the fire was started in the back area of the home, but the cause is still under investigation.

“We’re still investigating it. (The home was) Heavily damaged, complete loss not sure, but heavily damaged,” said Salinas Fire.
