Events surrounding the California Rodeo Salinas begin Friday
Preparations are underway for the California Rodeo Salinas. The annual rodeo is one of the top 20 regular season rodeos throughout the United States. The carnival will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday and then Friday night Kid Rock will be taking the stage at the Salinas Sports Complex.
The rumor is we are sold out, but we’re not. We have about 2,000 to sell, so tell your friends and come on out,” said Marketing manager Mandy Linquist.
Those tickets start at $20 dollars. On Saturday another great event the annual parades through Oldtown Salinas. The 87th Kiddie Kapers Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Colmo del Rodeo Parade.
“This year we have more floats than last year, several marching bands. It’s a free community event,” said Linquist.
Professional bull riding will take place on Wednesday, and then the actual Rodeo will take place over four days beginning Thursday. More than 700 of the best cowboys and cowgirls across America will be here to compete.
