San Jose man arrested, accused of killing Marina woman

UPDATE 7/12/17 12:48 p.m.: A suspect has been arrested in the murder investigation of a Marina woman who was found shot to death at a San Jose home earlier this month.

San Jose Police said Daniel Gebrehiwet Zeratsion, 19, of San Jose, was arrested Tuesday at the U.S.-Mexico border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers.

Zeratsion will be brought back to San Jose and booked in the Santa Clara County Jail, police said.

He is accused of killing Myla Thi Dang, 20, in the 600 block of S. 10th St. on July 3.

PREVIOUS STORY: A woman from Marina has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting at a home in downtown San Jose Monday.

According to San Jose Police, 20-year-old Myla Dang was found dead after shots were heard coming from a home on the 600 block of South 10th Street between Reed and Margaret Streets.

San Jose Police said Dang suffered from at least one gunshot wound. Dang was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives said they are searching for a man they believe shot Dang. Police said the victim and the suspect knew each other. The motive surrounding the incident is unknown at this time.
