Salinas police identify Saturdays homicide victim as 23-year-old Christian Amezcua
UPDATE 7/12/2017 3:36 p.m. Salinas Police have identified Saturday’s homicide victim as 23-year-old Christian Amezcua.
On July 8, just before midnight, Amezcua suffered multiple gunshot wounds on the 300 block of Williams Road in Salinas.
Police said Amezcua had had many contacts with Salinas PD and the crime is being investigated as gang-related.

A 23-year old man was shot to death Saturday night while riding his bicycle along Williams Road, police said.
Officers responded to a Shot Spotter alert of gunshots in the 300 block of Williams Road just before midnight.
During the investigation officers determined the man had been approached and shot by one or more individuals, who then fled.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Police said it appears to be a gang-related shooting.
