Fire crews work to put out vegetation fire in Gilroy
At least one shed and grass is burning in a vegetation fire in Gilroy at the intersection of Las Animas Avenue and Monterey Road, according to the Gilroy Fire Department.
On the “Gilroy Neighborhood Watch Group” residents reported smelling smoke in the air and seeing flames near Highway 152 by the Costco in what appeared to be a second fire, however Gilroy Fire confirmed that in fact only one wildfire is burning in the area.
Gilroy fire is on the scene working to contain the fire.
