A body was found underneath Highway 101 in Gilroy

According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, a body was found underneath Highway 101 in unincorporated Gilroy.

On June 27, around 5:26 p.m. a land surveyor discovered the body in a creek bed just east of Monterey Frontage Road and west of Bolsa Road between the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 101.

The body is that of an adult male, and investigators believe it had been there for some time.

The Santa Clara County Coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Authorities are not releasing any further information at this time until they can confirm the identity.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public to forward any information they have regarding this case.
