Aptos teen arrested again, two years after hit-and-run crash

An Aptos teen, arrested nearly two years ago in a hit-and-run crash that left a young woman paralyzed, was arrested again Monday night.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, Trevor Maddy, 19, was found early Monday at about 2:30 a.m. inside a car parked on the side of the road at Seacliff Dr. and San Benito Ave. in Aptos. Deputies said Maddy was found with drugs and an open alcohol container in the car.

He was arrested and released from the Santa Cruz County Jail.

In June 2015, California Highway Patrol said Maddy was accused of hitting and severely injuring Aptos woman Nicole Brown with his car. She was 25-years-old at the time.
