Attempted murder investigation underway in Watsonville
Watsonville officers are investigating an attempted murder after responding to shots fired just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the area of Packard Lane and Shawki Court.
Officers said when they arrived they found a parked car with multiple bullet holes, the engine running and no one inside. That’s when they found out there was a victim who had been taken to a nearby hospital by a good Samaritan.
A dark-colored sedan was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed right after the gunfire, officers said.
The 24-year old victim was taken to the emergency with a gunshot wound to his upper back. He was later flown to a trauma center but has been listed in stable conditions.
Officers said the victim was uncooperative with the investigators.
Watsonville police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
