Two suspects at large after an armed car-jacking in Watsonville

According to Watsonville Police two suspects were involved in an armed car-jacking Friday morning.

The victim stopped for coffee at the Bridge Street Market on Riverside Drive in Watsonville.

The victim was sitting in his car around 7:16 a.m. and that’s when he was approached by another vehicle.

The victim talked to the driver about directions to Castroville and that’s when the passenger of the other vehicle got out with a rifle.

The victim got out of his car. The suspect with the rifle got in the victim’s car and drove eastbound on Riverside Drive. The other suspect driver followed his accomplice in the victim’s car.

Watsonville Police said the suspect with the rifle was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 25-28 year-old, black hair, black jacket and black backpack. Suspect 2 (driver) was a white male, approximately 23-25 years-old, blonde hair wearing a black t-shirt.

No one was injured during the incident and the suspects remain at large.
