CHP investigating Highway 101 crash in Salinas

California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash on Highway 101 near the Laurel Dr. exit in Salinas Monday afternoon.

Traffic on the southbound side of the highway is currently impacted and the southbound on-ramp from Laurel Dr. is closed.

Officers said they received a report of a reckless driver earlier in the day and were told to be on the look out for the driver.

CHP said the driver was taken to the hospital.

Roads are expected to be busy with a lot of drivers through the Memorial Day holiday. So far, several crashes have been reported along Highway 101.
