Man rescued from water near Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf

Santa Cruz Police performed a water rescue near the city’s Municipal Wharf Wednesday night.

A 27-year-old man from Santa Cruz was in the water and in need of help.

Harbor Patrol and Santa Cruz fire joined police in rescue efforts.

The male suffered a hip injury and was air lifted to a Bay Area Trauma Center.

His current condition is unknown.

It’s unclear how he came to be in the water.
