Monterey business robbed at knifepoint, investigators say

A Seaside man is accused of robbing a business on North Fremont in Monterey Monday night, armed with a knife and wearing a face mask.

Investigators with the Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team explained David Hufford, 54, is accused of entering Doctors For Less in the Cypress Center, located within the 2400 block of North Fremont and demanding cash, later leaving in a silver car.

Hufford was arrested Tuesday after he was identified as the suspect, according to PRVNT. He’s charged with armed robbery, wearing a mask to hide his identity, driving on a suspended license and a probation violation.

Hufford was taken to the Monterey County Jail.
