A Watsonville man is facing drug and weapon charges after being stopped on two outstanding theft warrants Saturday.
Police say an officer spotted Jesus Magana, 24, driving in the area of Green Valley Road and Amesti Road around 3:41 p.m. Saturday.
Magana was pulled over and arrested on the two theft warrants. During a search, police found a usable amount of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, an illegal short barrel rifle, high capacity magazine and ammunition. The rifle was concealed in a bag in the vehicle’s passenger compartment.
Magana was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
