Santa Cruz: Suspect slams into fire hydrant after pursuit

California Highway Patrol Santa Cruz posted video of a man running away, after colliding into a fire hydrant on Soquel Avenue at Mattison Lane. The area is just off Highway 1, just blocks away from the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office.

CHP says over the weekend, officers chased the stolen Acura Integra taken from Half Moon Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The chase ended up in Santa Cruz, according to CHP Santa Cruz’s Facebook page, when the driver slammed into the hydrant. Officers determined no passengers were trapped inside the stolen care.
