New passport office opening in Salinas
A brand new passport office is opening up in Salinas. It’s really just a move down the hall from where the old office was, there are some big changes that have been made.
Normally you see lines wrapped around the doors at times. And on Friday, still long lines and long wait times, but it’s not just limited to Salinas. John and his daughter, Danielle had to travel down from Morgan Hill .
“I didn’t expect the wait to be so long. We’re over two months out,” said John Dokter.
“One of my friends went to get her passport. She waited almost six hours in line.It was crazy,” said Danielle Dokter.
Postmaster Mike Eden says they will go from doing 40 passports to about 150 a day with the new office and two new clerk positions. The new passport office will open at 9am Monday.
