Preparations underway for Earth Day
Preparations are underway for Earth Day. The annual observance is designed as a day to give back to mother earth.
Return of the Natives will be providing plants for areas throughout Monterey County this Earth Day. They’ll be in seaside on Sunday and working at Natividad Creek Park in Salinas on Saturday.
Everyone is encouraged to help out.
“we will be bringing plants and tools and gloves. All people need to do is come ready to work and enjoy themselves out in nature,” said Return of the Natives Director Laura Lee Lienk.
The work will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, and is followed by a celebration at 1:00 p.m. in the park with games and food. Return of the Natives has been restoring Natividad Creek Park for over 20 years and it has over 165 bird species that visit it.
