Salinas Valley State Prison escapee captured
UPDATE: 04/10/2017 12.53 P.M. Martin was captured at 11.30 A.M. today. He was taken into custody without incident and returned to Salinas Valley State Prison.
California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officials are looking for a state prison inmate who walked away Sunday from the minimum-support facility at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad.
Brian Martin, 22, was reported missing at around 8:45 p.m. He was seen jumping a fence and CHP spotted him with a helicopter but he remains elusive. The search continued Monday.
Martin, who is serving a six-year sentence for receiving stolen property, is from Butte County. Officials are unsure whether he will stay in the area or not.
Martin is a white male with brown eyes and brown hair. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 157 pounds.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for Martin.
Anyone who sees him or who knows his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
