Human remains found off River Road in Monterey County
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating human remains found off of River Road.
Authorities said workers clearing brush in a rural farm area originally discovered bones on Monday. Investigators returned yesterday and found additional remains. They were collected and sent off for further examination and DNA testing.
Investigators told KION they weren’t sure if the bones were Native American because they don’t know how long they have been there. They said they have a lot of follow up work to do.
